Water is vital for all known forms of life. On average 60% of human body is water. Although water is crucial for human life, if it is contaminated it can cause serious diseases, often leading to death. Throughout the world, 80% of sicknesses are due to an inadequate water supply.
The current water situation in Pakistan is very alarming. Industrialization, urbanization, and rapid population growth have placed a huge stress on water resources throughout Pakistan, making it difficult for many to gain a clean source of water. As per one USAID report, an estimated 250,000 child deaths occur each year in Pakistan due to water-borne diseases. A study conducted by UNICEF found that 20-40% of hospital beds in Pakistan are occupied by patients suffering from water-related diseases such as typhoid, cholera, dysentery and hepatitis, which are also responsible for one third of all deaths.
In order to combat these diseases, we have initiated a clean drinking water project in Pakistan with the help of God-fearing people. Our target is provide clean drinking water to every village throughout the country. Not only would this lower the decrease the cases of water-borne diseases, this would also decrease the load on health services and overall create a healthier Pakistan.
